Agni, een voormalig Maoïstische guerrillastrijder, komt na 10 jaar terug in zijn geboortedorp voor de crematie van zijn vader. Er ontstaat onenigheid tussen Agni en zijn vrouw, en tussen Agni en de dorpsoudsten over de crematie. Agni vecht tegen de tradities, maar ervaart ook zijn verbondenheid daarmee.
